Bhawanipatna: CPI (M) observed Bharat bandh here Thursday and disrupted traffic by blocking the road at Kandughati near Rampur Madanpur in Kalahandi district. As a result of the bandh the traffic on Gopalpur-Raypur National Highway-59 came to a grinding halt.
The Red Rebels have reportedly gutted road construction equipment. The Maoists also obstructed Bhawanipatna-Rayagada road as well.
The Maoists pasted posters urging people to make the bandh a success.
