Bhubaneswar, March 3: Mukteswar Cricket Club (MCC) entered the semifinals of the Pushpalata Garabadu Memorial Masters T20 cricket tournament after registering a thumping 10-wicket win over Cuttack’s Union Sporting here Thursday.
The Cuttack side was bundled out for 88 in 18.1 overs with man of the match Chitta Ranjan Swain (4/11) turning out to be the wrecker-in-chief for MCC. In reply, MCC romped home in just eight overs with Sukant Jena (43) and Prashant Biswal (35) leading the run chase.
Huge win for Keonjhar
Keonjhar scripted a huge victory by an innings and 102 runs over Jagatsinghapur in a Group-B match of the Kalahandi Cup cricket tournament at the Ravenshaw Ground-I in Cuttack, Thursday.
In reply to Keonjhar’s first innings score of 305, Jagatsinghpur were bowled out for a paltry 87 against some disciplined bowling by Md Fahim Akhtar (3/10). After conceding a big first innings lead of 218, Jagatsinghpur again batted poorly in their second essay to be skittled out for 116.
