In any format of cricket, all-rounders are always a special category. They are assets to the side as was proved during the recently-concluded World T20. The upcoming ninth edition of the IPL will also not be an exception and all-rounders will be expected to play a key role for their respected sides. Don’t be fooled by the stats on offer. Dwayne Bravo (Gujarat Lions): During his stint with the now defunct Chennai Super Kings, the West Indian batted at No. 5-6 and mostly bowled at the death. His role will more or less remain the same as his skipper Suresh Raina (a former CSK player himself) will definitely use Bravo the same way as MS Dhoni did in CSK.

Shane Watson (RCB): The Aussie all-rounder showed his prowess in the game against India in the World T20 when he got a quickfire 30-odd runs and also picked up two vital wickets.
