Srinagar: A former Special Police Officer (SPO) has been killed by the militants after they kidnapped him in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district, police said Saturday.
Police said the body of former SPO, Basharat Ahmad, who was abducted by the gunmen in Shopian district on Friday, was found in Pulwama district.
Two other persons abducted by the militants have been released unharmed.
This is the third killing of abducted persons by gunmen during the last fortnight. Two persons abducted from Shopian district were earlier killed by gunmen.
