Rourkela: Brahmani Tarang police Tuesday arrested three persons on charges of gangraping a minor girl here in this steel city in Sundargarh district.
The arrest was made following the statement of the survivor who was rescued from a school premises in a critical condition who had gone missing for the past two days.
The survivor is now undergoing treatment at Ispat General Hospital here.
Sources said, the 16-year old girl had gone missing from her home in Vedvyas area here Saturday night. She was found lying in a nearby field Monday morning. Later that day, the parents filed a complaint with the police station alleging that their daughter was gangraped.
It may be noted here that a minor girl was allegedly gangraped after being kidnapped by two youths under Binjharpur police limits in Jajpur while she had gone to attend tuition classes October 6.
Subsequently, police rescued the survivor from a nearby village and arrested one of the accused based on the girl’s statement while the other accused is still on the run.
