Soro: A 13-year-old girl filed a case against her distant uncle, alleging a rape attempt at Hatasahi area near Soro Monday night.
The accused has been identified as Subash Dash from the same area.
As per the FIR, the accused barged into her room at 1 am, shut her mouth with his hands in an attempt for rape.
However, the girl freed her mouth from his hands by biting the accused and raised an alarm.
The uncle threw her to the ground and fled the scene.
The girl’s family lodged a case at the Soro Police Station.
“The police have started a manhunt to nab the accused who is absconding. He would be caught soon. The medical examination of the victim would be conducted Tuesday,” said Sambhari Hansda, IIC In-Charge, Soro Police Station.
