Bhubaneswar: A motorcycle-borne miscreant allegedly looted a bag containing Rs 5 lakh from a woman at Trinath Bazaar near Phulnakhara area in Bhubaneswar Tuesday.
Later, the woman lodged a report at Phulnakhara police station in this regard.
As per the FIR filed by the woman, while she was talking to a person keeping the bag containing the cash on her scooter, the miscreant grabbed the bag and fled.
The woman and her brother chased the looter on the woman’s scooter but in vain. The entire incident was captured on a CCTV camera of a nearby shop.
Based on the FIR, police have launched an investigation into the matter. Locals said that the miscreant was riding a black-colour Pulsar motorcycle.
Efforts are on to identify the miscreant on basis of CCTV footage, police said.
