Bargarh: Mystery shrouds the death of a visually impaired school teacher whose body was found hanging on the terrace of her government quarters here Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as K Sarada Patra (48), a visually impaired teacher at Block Colony Primary School in the town. She was the wife of another visually impaired teacher Ladu Kishore Behera posted in a local school. Town police have started an investigation into the mysterious death and sent the body for post-mortem. A case was registered in this connection.
The couple, hailing from Ganjam district was teaching in the local school for the last several years.
The victim was reportedly under severe stress after her daughter committed suicide in 2013. She stayed back at home while sending her husband to school. She informed her school headmistress over phone that she would reach school. In the meantime, she took the drastic step and ended her life.
As she did not go to the school after long hours, the school cook came searching for her. The cook knocked at the door and rang up her husband after no one responded to his call. Her husband came and unlocked the door and found her body hanging with her lunch kept on the table.
