Daringbadi: A nature park here in Kandhamal district being developed by the forest department is all set to be inaugurated by March 15. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests visited the park during his visit to the place Wednesday.
Preparations are on in full swing to finish the remaining work of the under-construction park, said environment minister Bikram Keshari Arukh. He added measures are being taken to improve the facilities and beautification to ensure more footfall of visitors to the park built on four hectares of land.
Activities to develop the park have been continuing under the direct supervision of Baliguda divisional forest officer V Kartik for the last one year at an expenditure of several lakhs.
Various features of the park include a butterfly garden, medicinal plants, 3D films, and life-size statues of wild animals like elephants, tigers, lions and deer. Tribal festivals, social customs, and traditions are depicted through life-size figures and are the main attractions of the park.
The 3D films will enlighten the visitors about the importance of conserving our wildlife and environment, added V Kartik.
Measures are being taken to develop cottages inside the park to provide lodging and boarding facilities to the visitors. The visitors have to buy tickets to visit the park, said Simanbadi forest range officer Lalit Mohan Patnaik. PNN
