Bhubaneswar: Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling Saturday announced that cancer treatment will now be covered under the Ayushman Bharat scheme.
He said 121 treatment packages have been included under the Gopabandhu Jana Arogya Yojana (GJAY), covering various cancer treatments. The Odisha government will bear the cost of cancer care, providing significant financial relief to patients and their families.
The expanded coverage includes chemotherapy, radiotherapy and complex cancer surgeries, enabling beneficiaries to access advanced treatment without incurring high out-of-pocket expenses.
