Bhubaneswar: Odisha is making a mark at the ongoing PM Mementoes e-Auction 2025, featuring 21 unique artifacts showcasing the state’s rich heritage in textile craftsmanship, mythological art, and metalwork.

The e-auction, running until October 2, invites citizens nationwide to bid on memorabilia presented to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Proceeds from the auction will support the Namami Gange Project, a flagship initiative for conserving and rejuvenating the River Ganga.

Crafted on traditional canvases and palm leaves, these artworks bring to life legendary tales of Lord Krishna, Radha, and Lord Ganesh, reflecting the state’s centuries-old artistic heritage and storytelling traditions.

Each piece not only showcases technical mastery but also embodies the cultural and spiritual ethos of Odisha, preserving a legacy that has been passed down through generations of skilled artisans.

Equally striking is the Silver Peacock Memento, a testament to Odisha’s celebrated filigree craftsmanship.

The piece captures national symbolism while showcasing the state’s exceptional skill in this delicate art form. Another remarkable highlight is the Tussar Silk Painting of Navagunjara, depicting the mythical nine-animal form of Lord Krishna.

This artwork masterfully combines mythology, wildlife, and textile artistry, exemplifying Odisha’s unique ability to merge spiritual significance with artistic innovation. Both pieces reflect the state’s rich cultural heritage and its enduring tradition of excellence in craft and storytelling.

Organised by the Ministry of Culture and showcased at the National Gallery of Modern Art in New Delhi, the PM Mementoes e-Auction 2025 features over 1,300 items, including paintings, handicrafts, tribal art, sports memorabilia, and ceremonial gifts presented to the Prime Minister.

Since its inception in 2019, the auction has provided a unique platform for public engagement with India’s national heritage while supporting important environmental and cultural initiatives, such as the Namami Gange Project.

Citizens can join the auction by visiting pmmementos.gov.in and placing bids until Gandhi Jayanti, October 2, 2025.

Odisha’s contribution highlights the state’s rich legacy of craftsmanship, spiritual storytelling, and cultural pride, giving bidders a unique opportunity to own a piece of India’s artistic heritage while supporting a project of national significance.
