Bhubaneswar: The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has announced a hike of Rs 1 per litre in the milk procurement price for dairy farmers across the state. The revised rate will come into effect from May 1, 2026.
With this revision, farmers will now receive Rs 39.05 per litre, up from the earlier Rs 38.05 per litre. The increase comes in response to growing demand from farmers amid rising costs of feed, fodder, medicines, and maintenance.
The decision was taken to enhance farmers’ income and support them amid rising input costs, including fodder, cattle feed, hay, and veterinary medicines, which have significantly increased milk production expenses. OMFED said it continues to take proactive steps to strengthen the financial stability of dairy farmers and ensure sustainable growth in the sector.
