Koraput: In a tragic road mishap Tuesday night, a woman was killed and four others were critically injured following a head-on collision between a car and an auto-rickshaw under Padua police limits in Koraput district, the police sources informed.

Both the vehicles fell into Patali River in the district following the collision. Later, four occupants who were critically injured were rescued from the auto-rickshaw and shifted to a nearby hospital.
The body of the deceased woman was fished out from the river.
The ill-fated car remains untraceable and the number of passengers travelling inside the car is yet to be ascertained. Police including Nandapur fire brigade personnel launched a rescue operation.
On the other hand, Padua police has registered a case and initiated an investigation in this connection. Body of the woman was sent to hospital for post-mortem. Details are still awaited.
