Bhubaneswar: Orissa eves continued their dream run as they blanked Rajasthan 10-0 in their second match in the National Sub-Junior Girls’ Football Championships in Manipur, Saturday.
Orissa started the match on a positive note having a better ball possession. But they were unable to pierce through the defence of the opponents. Orissa took 40th minute to score the first goal through Momita Soronia, who struck of a brilliant right footer from outside the box. Krishna Barick made it 2-0 five minutes later.
Sumita Hembram found the back of the net in the 51st minute to hand Orissa a 3-0 lead while Krishna scored her second of the game in the 71st minute. Sumita added her second and team’s fifth in the 75th before Janhabi Kishan made it 6-0 a minute later.
Sarita Soreng, who played a pivotal role in the last match scoring a hat-trick continued her fine form as she again scored two goals (78th and 88th) here, taking her tally to five goals. In between Janhabi scored her second of the game in the 82nd minute. The other goal scored was an own goal by Rajasthan.
Snooker tourney
Vintage Club will organise the VIIth MIET All Orissa Open Snooker Championship at the club premises here starting October 29. One hundred eight participants will take part in the tournament, which has no entry fees. The tournament has a prize purse of Rs 1,00,000.
