Bhubaneswar: Senior Orissa police officials felicitated a team of 50 National Security Guard (NSG) commandos here Sunday. They arrived here participating in a bike rally being organised to campaign against terrorism.
The team of around 40 NSG commandos are on a motorcycle expedition across the country to commemorate the NSG’s 33 years of service and to spread the message of collective responsibility in fighting terror.
The commandos, riding 15 Royal Enfield motorcycles, were flagged off by Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju September 7 at the NSG’s Manesar base camp in the district.
Speaking to reporters, the leader of the NSG team, Deputy Commandant Amit Kumar said, “Our plan is to visit all the major cities across India, including NSG’s regional hubs at Gandhinagar, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad and Kolkata during the 7,000-km odyssey to spread the message of collective responsibility in fighting terrorism.”
