Bhubaneswar, March 30: Orissa Police defeated Utkal Sporting, Jatni by a solitary goal in the inaugural match of the state level Baramunda Cup football tournament here Monday.
The match was a nail-biting affair, but Orissa Police were more opportunistic and always looked the better side. Rabi Mundari scored the all important goal for the winning team. Even though the Jatni players tried their best they could not restore parity. KIIT will meet United Club, Cuttack Tuesday.
Official elected
Orissa Basketball Association secretary Ashok Kumar Sahu has been elected as the vice-president of the Basketball Federation of India(BFI) in Pune, Monday. He was unanimously elected in the BFI AGM Ashok was the associate secretary of the federation in the last general body.
Karate Championship
Orissa State Karate-Do Association will organise the 27th State Karate Championship at the Utkal Karate School here April 1-3. Participants from all the districts of the state are participating in this three-day meet.
