Bhubaneswar: Orissa players bagged three medals including a silver and two bronze at the 24th National Senior Wushu Championships which ended Sunday, at Shillong.
Divyalochan Pradhan won a silver in the ‘Changquan’ segment while Jitendra Kumar and Niki Kumari Khuswa bagged bronze medals in the Nandao and ‘Nangun’ categories. Four hundred participants from across India had participated in the meet.
Anuj enters quarters
Anuj Panda booked his maiden quarterfinal berth in the Senior Snooker State Championships with an upset 3-1 (57-50, 41-63, 51-42, 63-48) win over seventh seed, Dr Rakesh Roshan Pradhan at the Cuttack Club, Monday.
Earlier in the day, Anuj had defeated Udbhas Mohapatra 3-1 (59-19, 49-56, 67-17, 41-19).
Meanwhile, Nishant Biswal struck the highest break of the tournament, 62, during his 3-0 (73-10, 86-5, 90-11) win over Ishwar Prasad Lenka. In another match, Md Raza notched up a 3-1 win over Sameer Ali.
Ticket sale
Ticket sales for the upcoming India-Sri Lanka match to be played at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, December 20 will commence, December 15.
“Tickets for spectators will be available in counters from December 15-16. The total number of tickets available for the spectators will be 24, 400,” Orissa Cricket Association (OCA) announced through a press release Monday.
“Tickets for OCA’s affiliated units will be given December 14 and 15. The price of the tickets for gallery number one and three will be Rs 600, for galleries number two and four Rs 500 and for galleries number six and seven Rs 400. The cost of special enclosures tickets will be Rs 3,000 and the price for new pavilion tickets will be Rs 5,000.
Referees’ exam
Orissa State Football Tennis Association (OSFTA) will organise the State Level Grade A-1 tennis referees’ exam at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack, October 22. Interested candidates should contact with OSFTA office immediately.
