Bhubaneswar, June 21: The state-owned Orissa tourism development corporation (OTDC) has announced a special package tour for watching the world famous Puri car festival July 6.
For the first time this year, OTDC has introduced online booking of the tour package. The online booking of the package would be made in addition to purchase of the package through the counter.
The package will cost Rs 3,999 per head for adults and Rs 3,299 for children below 12 years from Cuttack and Bhubaneswar and Rs 4,999 for adults and Rs 4,299 for children below 12 years from Sambalpur.
Both the domestic and foreign devotees could take advantage of it.
As per the programme, special OTDC buses will leave Cuttack at 5 am and will depart from Bhubaneswar at 6am on the day of car festival and return by 19.00 hours. The bus carrying passengers from Sambalpur will leave at 2100 hrs June 5 and will return to Sambalpur on the next day evening.
The package includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinking water and provision of seat on the rooftop of a grand hotel to watch the car festival.
In addition to it, 150 seats were also arranged on the rooftop of Jagannath Ballav mutt for the devotees to watch the car festival. OTDC has fixed Rs 2,000 per head to watch the festival from the rooftop of the ‘mutt’ and also made provision to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The OTDC has also announced a package of Rs 600 per head for the devotees who want only to avail its bus services on the day of the car festival, bahuda and sunabesha at Puri.
