Bhubaneswar, May 31: Nearly 30,360 candidates appeared for the annual entrance exam conducted Sunday by the Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology (OUAT), the results of which will be announced June 20.
Most candidates found the physics paper comparatively tough while chemistry and biology sections were easier. “The physics section was a little tough but manageable. The chemistry and biology sections were comparatively easy. I am confident of cracking the examination,” said Akash Bhoi, a candidate.The candidates will compete for the total of 612 in bachelor’s degree courses in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry, agriculture engineering, fishery, forestry and home science.
The examination was held from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. Three observers, three examiners and police personnel were deputed at each examination centre across the state for ensuring the smooth conduct of the examination.
About 64 examination centres were set up in all district headquarters across the state, with the maximum number of 12 centres being set up in the capital city followed by six in Cuttack, five in Berhampur, four in Balasore and three each in Baripada and Sambalpur.
After the publication of the results of the entance test, OUAT will prepare a merit list based on the performance of the candidates. The results of the entrance examination will be seen in conjunction with the results of the Class 10 examination and the Plus II examination.
