Bhubaneswar: The state government has yet to redress more than 47 per cent of the grievances it received through e-Abhijoga portal, sources said Sunday.
As on September 11 this year, the state government had received 34,613 grievances related to various departments. However, it has been able to redress just 18,067 of them. The remaining 16,462 cases which constitute around 47 per cent of the total grievances are still pending before various departments.
All the 41 departments along with the government directorates and other government offices are linked with e-Abhiyoga, the online grievance redressal system.
Till the end of the first week of August 2016, the government had received a total of 33,889 grievances of which it managed to dispose of 17,486 petitions.
Several key departments related to social sectors such as health and family welfare, higher education, school and mass education have had a poor and disappointing record in disposing of grievances.
As per latest statistics available with government, school and mass education department has the highest number of pending petitions at 2407, followed by 2177 in health and family welfare department, 1509 in higher education and 1228 in general administration department.
Similarly, 795 and 790 cases are pending in women and child development and water resources departments respectively.
The newly formed social security and empowerment of persons with disabilities department has received only 21 cases but managed to dispose only four.
Ironically, the law department is the worst performer and had redressed less than one per cent of the cases. Of the 185 grievances received through e-Abhijoga, the department has disposed only one case.
The public grievances and pension administration (PG&PA) department, which is the nodal department to redress public grievances has been able to redress 185 of 186 grievances. Only the parliamentary affairs department does not have any pending grievances.
