Paramedical institute’s director nabbed over sexual misconduct

Bhubaneswar: Khandagiri police Sunday arrested the director of a paramedical institute on allegations of sexual misconduct.
The accused Kodanda Dhara Sahoo is a resident of Marei village in Keonjhar. He was the director of Indira Institute of Medical Science and Research at Bharatpur under Khandagiri police limits.
According to sources, he was arrested after long detention of him by the college students, both at the institute and later at the police station. Around ten girls lodged a complaint with the police against Sahoo Saturday. Later, police registered a case (CS no. 462/18) under sections 325,254,509, 34 of the IPC.
Earlier, tension erupted at the instituted when around 20 paramedical girl students ransacked the office of the director for allegedly misbehaving sexually with them, at around 11am Saturday.
Later, various organisations came out in support of the students and detained the director at the institute.
The police were called and Sahoo was taken to the police station.
He was sent to judicial custody after being produced before the court Sunday.
