Telkoi: Upset over frequent power cuts, people of four panchayats under Telkoi police limits in Keonjhar district blocked the National Highway-49 for six hours Thursday. Hundreds of trucks and others vehicles were stranded on either side of the road.
The locals alleged that despite their repeated complaints, the power problem has not been sorted out.
Staff of the power distribution company rushed to the spot and tried to placate the agitators.
Minister of state for skill development and technical education Premamanda Nayak held talks with the staff of the power distribution company and the agitating people.
The staff assured that they will sort out the issue within a month.
