Kukudakhandi: A physically challenged youth drowned in a pond at Masihakhali panchayat under this block in Ganjam districtSaturday.
The deceased was Amar Moharana, son of Janardan Moharana. The villagers recovered his body and cremated it at night. The mishap occurred as Amar went near the pond in the afternoon and did not return home. Family members searched for him around for long.
The fire personnel and police were called but they failed to be of any help. Later, the villagers fished out the body from the pond.
