Bhubaneswar: Y K Jethwa, the chairman of the state level committee that was formed to prevent hoarding and black marketing of COVID-19 medicines and medical supplies, had a detailed discussion with the Drug Controller, Odisha Sunday. A strategy was chalked out to intensify enforcement drive throughout the state to prevent any hoarding of essential COVID-19 supplies.
Joint flying squads, surveillance teams and surprise checking teams comprising enforcement wing of Drug Controller, Police, Special Task Force of Crime Branch etc. are going to be joining the Joint Enforcement mechanism. Sharp vigil and intelligence are going to be the integral parts of the strategy.
Raids, searches and seizures, and actions under criminal laws against unscrupulous elements have been finalized as countermeasures for hoarding and black marketing of COVID-19 essential goods.
