BHUBANESWAR: As youngsters wait enthusiastically for February 14, the cupid has already arrived. As we are done with Rose Day, Propose Day, Chocolate Day, Teddy Day, Promise Day, now is the time to celebrate Kiss Day.
On this day, couples show their partners how much they love them by exchanging kisses, not like they wouldn’t steal kisses from each other on the other days. Couples in the city are busy penning the schedule for the next two days.
A kiss is a token of love which expresses sentiments of passion, affection, respect, greeting and friendship among many others. There are a variety of ways in which to execute the special gesture. Forehead, cheek, hand, butterfly, air and French kisses among others seem to be the most popular ones. Orissa Post interacted with love birds in the city to delve deeper into the subject.
A youngster Rohit Sahoo, said, “To make the day a memorable one, I would try to kiss my better half in the sweetest and most romantic way. I plan to spend the day at a place which would not be crowded. Moments spent with your love on such a special day are special and to be cherished forever. We are also planning to go on a long drive as it is one of the most romantic things to do.”
Sangeeta Pradhan said, “We don’t need to mark a particular day to celebrate kissing. For couples, it is essential to share the special gesture every single day. I along with my boyfriend have planned to celebrate the day by visiting a blind school and distribute chocolates, fruits and other edibles among visually impaired children. This would make our Kiss Day memorable indeed. We are in a relationship for the last 12 years. We engage in such things every year to make our Valentine’s Week special.”
Ronit Singh said, “I plan to make my partner feel special on this day. Hence, we plan to dine together and spend quality time. In all other days, we are always in a hurry to move to our work place. We have taken a day off. I am planning to surprise her with varied delectable items to choose from apart from a bunch of roses.”
City youth seem to be geared up to celebrate what seems to be a memorable day. The gesture of kissing is certainly a great way to show one’s love. In other words, “A kiss is a lovely trick designed by nature to stop speech when words become superfluous.”
