Begunia: Police Friday recovered a decomposed body of Baunsiapada postmaster Gangadhar Mohapatra, 52, from a cashew orchard near Siula village under the police limits. Mohapatra had gone missing February 6.
According to sources some locals spotted the body hanging from a tree and informed the police, who arrived at the spot and seized the body.
The deceased man’s motorcycle along with a bottle of poison was also recovered from the spot.
Police said, a case (3/18) of unnatural death has been registered into the incident and the body was handed over to the family members after the post-mortem at Khurda district headquarters hospital.
Police further informed that a suicide note written by Mohapatra was also recovered from his house during investigation.
The note states that Mohapatra ended his life due to financial constraints. However the reason behind his death is still under probe.
