Soro: Two houses were looted Friday night at Biripada village under Tentei panchayat in Soro police station limits of Balasore district, a source said.

In one incident, four miscreants allegedly tied up a pregnant woman and three of her family members before assaulting them and decamping with gold ornaments worth over Rs 50,000 and Rs 14,000 in cash. The victims were identified as members of the family of Ahalya Nayak, who has been living in a temporary house while her main house is under construction, the source informed.
