Actor Babusan’s Only Pyar is different from contemporary Oriya films. The romantic comedy drama in which he stars opposite Supriya, his co-actor in Love Pain Kuchh Bhi Karega, showcases the love between a paediatrician and a glass painter. It is not often that you have a doctor as the hero in Oriya films. Besides, the storyline is also different from that of other movies. “A bunch of kids, who are friends of the doctor, help him in getting the girl. The film has both romantic and melodramatic songs and a dance number,” said the director Tapas Sargharia, who has earlier directed Tu Hi Tu, Tu Mo Love Story, Hero No. 1 and Kalki.’ This is his seventh film.
“I have played the character Nitya, an unpredictable girl. Sometimes she talks like an intelligent person and sometimes she acts stupid,” said Supriya. The actress, who was chosen Miss Orissa in 2014, said she wants to represent Orissa at the national and international levels. “As an actor I can pull off any character. In my earlier film, I played a simple village girl and in Only Pyar I have done a different role.”
Apart from the lead pair, Only Pyar features Mihir Das, Aparajita, Pragyan, Chowdhury Bikas Das and a bunch of sprightly children. Abhijit Majumdar has scored the music for the film produced by Sunil Kumar Das and written by Bharadwaj Panda. Girish Mohanty is the choreographer. The film hit the screens Friday.
