Berhampur: The private bus owners’ strike raising demands that the new bus stand should not be shifted to the Haladiapadar bus terminal has entered its second day Monday.
The meeting between Collector Prem Chandra Chaudhury and agitating bus owners Sunday failed to resolve the issue.
At the meeting, the bus owners reiterated their demand that the new bus stand should not be shifted to the Haladiapadar bus terminal. But the collector did not agree to their demand.
The owners have raised objection to the decisionthat all the buses from outside the district would come to Haladiapadar terminal and take passengers.
The bus service from here to all parts of the state has been stopped for two consecutive days. About 800 buses have remained off the road.
The commuters are facing a tough time as reportedly more than 1,000 commuters got stuck at the new bus stand Monday.
