Bhubaneswar: BJD leader and former Minister Raghunath Mohanty has tendered his resignation from the post of chairman of the Odisha Lift Irrigation Corporation (OLIC).
According to sources, he is an aspirant for the Basta Assembly seat for which candidate has not been nominated by the BJD till now.
Mohanty however, refused to comment on the speculation about him. He informed that he has resigned from OLIC due to personal reasons. When asked whether he would be contesting from Basta, the former minister said that the decision regarding this will be taken by party supremo Naveen Patnaik only. He asserted that he will gladly do whatever the party asks him to do.
