Bhubaneswar, Feb 18: Biswabharati, Cuttack defeated Khurda Club by 44 runs after being put into bat and ensured a place in the semis of N.M Bhuyan & Sourav Mohanty Memorial trophy cricket tournament here Wednesday.
Biswabharati reached to 260/8 thanks to a blistering century by Rashmi Ranjan Das (103), who was ably partnered by Sandip Sethy (50). Debasish Barik (3/42) tried to stem the flow of runs but couldn’t prevent Biswabharati from crossing the 250 mark.
In reply, Khurda Club folded up for 216 with Rupak Jena (59) and SK. Salam (55) putting up some fight. C.S Kanungo (3/26), Ramesh Behera (2/22) and Prachin Mishra (2/34) plotted Khudra’s downfall. Rashmi Ranjan Das was adjudged as man of the match.
