The entertainment industry has lost yet another talented actor, Rita Bhaduri. Rita has acted in well-known films like Julie, Raja, Beta, Viraasat, Kabhi Haan Kabhi Na, Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon , Dil Vil Pyar Vyar, Mulaqaat , Kya Kehna, Hote Hote Pyar Ho Gaya, Jaane Jigar, Tamanna and Hero No.1 among others. She was also part of many television serials like Kumkum, Khichdi, Nimki Mukhiy. The news about her demise Tuesday morning has left the film industry stunned. It is suspected that she was suffering from a serious kidney ailment and was in the hospital for some time.
The fans of the actress across the country have expressed their deep condolences. She was cremated in Andheri, East Mumbai in the afternoon.
Fashion designer and TV personality of Big Boss reality show fame Sabyasachi Satpathy said: She was someone who was always sweet whenever I met her. I had met her in Mumbai during Durga puja …She was someone who had been close to me as an elderly person with the experience of a lifetime.
Actor Amrit Kashyap said Rita Bhaduri is one of the finest actors of Indian cinema. She was a veteran. She had depicted mother skills in Beta and Viraasat. She was really someone who had her heart out in whatever roles she played. She will be missed dearly. RIP. God bless her soul.
Asish Mehta, a film fan in Bhubaneswar, said, “I remember her for her movie Hero No. 1 where she had played opposite actor Tiku Talsania and as sister-in-law of Karishma Kapoor. She was one of the veterans of television industry who had played many iconic roles.”
Director Amartya Bhattacharya said, “Every demise hurts us, more so because we tend to miss artistes more when they are no longer there. Rita Bhaduriji started her career long before I was born, and has been a part of several films and television programmes. I only hope and I wish that she will be remembered for her work. One good thing about passionate people is that they live through their work, even after they depart. I’m sure Rita Bhaduriji too will live through her huge body of work.”
Actor Swapna Pati said, “Rita Madam had portrayed many women-centric roles in her life and had played many iconic roles especially the mother figure with raw emotion, sweet to the core and tad emotional.”
Odia film director Swastik Chaudhary said, “Rita was an alumnus of FTII who had done a number of roles across television and films. She definitely was a wonderful actor and probably had much more to offer had she not been bracketed in the stereotypical roles ….”
