Kochi: It was a rude awakening for ISL side Kerala Blasters FC (KBFC) as they were hammered 0-6 by A–league side Melbourne City FC in the opening match of the Toyota Yaris LaLiga World football tournament at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium here, Tuesday. The visitors scored through Dario Vidosic (30th), Riley McGree (33rd, 56th), Lachlan Wales (50th), Ramy Najjarine (77th) and Bruno Fornaroli (79th). It could have been a more embarrassing scoreline for the hosts had the upright not saved on two occasions. KBFC got a real taste of international football as the speed of the Australians McGree and Wales and Scottish forward Michael O’Halloran caught them napping time and again.
