Navi Mumbai: Spain U-17 captain Abel Ruiz might be one of the brightest youngsters in international football currently, but the striker is not thinking too far ahead and just wants to focus on the FIFA U-17 World Cup final against England, October 28.
“I am only concentrating on the final against England at the moment and not anything else,” said the FC Barcelona youth player after scoring a brace in Spain’s 3-1 semifinal victory over Mali here, Wednesday.
Asked if there was any added pressure on him as being his team’s spearhead, Ruiz said all he concentrated was on scoring goals to help his side win. “I am under no pressure at all. All I want is to score more goals and lead my side to victory,” said the player who idolises Uruguayan Luis Suarez.
Looking ahead to the final against England, Ruiz pointed out that the two teams had met each other earlier in the Euro Championships final in Croatia and were aware of each other’s strengths and weaknesses. “We will plan our strategy accordingly,” Ruiz informed.
