Cuttack, Oct 11: A panel formed by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) regional headquarters in Kolkata Saturday began its probe into allegations of sexual harassment levelled by a woman athlete against SAI Cuttack centre athletic coach Sushanta Ray.
Psychologist Reena Kaul, who heads the panel, reached the SAI Cuttack centre Saturday and recorded the statements of officials, employees and other coaches in connection with the allegations. She also recorded the statements of male and female athletes of the centre regarding the attitude and behaviour of Ray, who was arrested and sent to jail. He was also placed under suspension by SAI.Later, Kaul met the victim and recorded her statement regarding the allegations she had levelled against Ray.
“Officials and athletes of the SAI Cuttack centre have given positive views on coach Ray. We have also recorded the statement of the victim. A report will be submitted to the regional headquarters after an analysis of all these aspects,” said Kaul to the media.
