Bhubaneswar: The state government has decided to conduct the counselling of 124 students of Sardar Rajas Medical College December 22 and 23, following the direction of the High Court about their relocation.
“We have decided to conduct two-day counseling of the 124 MBBS students of the medical college from December 22, in line with the direction of the High Court,” a senior official of the health and family welfare department said here Thursday.
Orissa High Court Wednesday directed the state government to complete the relocation process of 124 students of the Kalahandi-based medical college to government and private medical institutes by December 23 and file a compliance report before the court by December 24.
Counseling for joining MKCG medical college and Hi-Tech medical college would be conducted December 22, while the counseling for admission to VIMSAR of Burla, KIMS and SUM medical colleges will be conducted the next day.
The director of medical education and training has been asked to issue a notification in this regard so that the registration and counseling process can be completed according to schedule, the official said.
Of the 124 students of Sardar Rajas, the state government will relocate the 109 who got admission on the basis of all-India ranks to government colleges, while the remaining 15 who took admission in the management quota will be shifted to three private colleges. Of these 109 students, 55 will be admitted to MKCG, while 54 will be admitted to VIMSAR.
