Semiliguda: The Semiliguda block office in Koraput has no functional toilets, forcing visitors, including the elderly, to use open areas, residents said Tuesday.
Locals complained they wait hours for services like pension applications or land queries without restroom access, calling the situation humiliating and unhygienic. The premises also suffer from stagnant water and garbage accumulation.
“If the administration can’t maintain hygiene in its own building, how can they ensure cleanliness in villages?” asked resident Subhashree Hantal.

Block vice-chairman Sibaya Bangari acknowledged the problem and assured immediate action, promising to prioritise proper restroom facilities, especially for women and senior citizens.
