Bhubaneswar: Commissionerate police Saturday busted another sex racket, for the third time in the week, which was operating at a health spa and massage centre at Bapuji Nagar under Capital police limits and rescued eight girls from Thailand.
Seven persons including the manager of the parlour were arrested by the police.
Following a tip-off, police carried out raids at H2O spa where flesh trade was going on for several months under the garb of spa and massage centre. Sources said that the rescued girls were brought to the city from Thailand on a tourist visa. The cops have seized their passports.
Earlier, Wednesday and Friday, two such rackets were busted during raids at Nayapalli and Gajapati Nagar which indicates that flesh trade has been rampant in the city under the guise of spa and massage parlours. Sources said that inspections at such centres can also unravel more such cases.
Notably, rescue of foreign girls also proves the fact that the international prostitution rings have been active in the capital. Three Thai girls were rescued from a spa in Kharavel Nagar area a few months ago. Likewise, two girls from Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan were also rescued in the city July 26, 2017.
