Bhubaneswar: Ahead of the BJP’s national executive meeting scheduled to be held August 18 and 19, a review meeting on progress of tasks assigned to party workers of the states was held under the chairmanship of the saffron party’s national president Amit Shah in New Delhi Wednesday.
Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) national secretary Suresh Pujari, who attended the meeting, tabled the progress report at the meeting. The report contains progress made on organisational works and targets achieved by the party in Odisha since Shah’s last visit to the state.
Shah, during his visit to the state, had assigned certain tasks to the party workers under his ambitions ‘Mission 120 Plus’ target for the 2019 elections. The BJP national president’s focus was on forming booth committees across the state. “We had been given specific tasks to accomplish within a stipulated time frame and party workers have done their best to achieve the targets. If Amitji feels that we have accomplished them, he will give us a new set of targets, else he will direct us to complete the old tasks as soon as possible”, said Pujari.
The meeting also deliberated upon several proposals for the two-day national executive meeting. According to sources at the state BJP office, the focus at the meeting will be on efforts made by the party workers at booth levels.
