Mumbai: Singing sensation Ranu Mondal’s tryst with destiny is now a well-documented fact. The social media platforms have gone viral with her latest videos and news. But then what is not known that this is not Ranu Mondal’s first trip to Mumbai.
In fact, Ranu Mondal has been quoted as saying that quite a few years back she doubled up as a cook and maid servant at actor-director Feroz Khan’s residence. However, because she was not fluent while speaking in Hindi she had quit the job and had come back to Ranaghat.
Ranu Mondal has revealed that she had gone to Mumbai immediately after her marriage as her husband used to work in Mumbai. She then started working at Feroz Khan’s residence. Other than cooking and sweeping floors Ranu’s main duty was to tend to the needs of baby Fardeen Khan. She continued in the job for a couple of years, before quitting returning to Ranaghat.
Well, life has changed for Ranu drastically after a video of hers singing at the Ranaghat Railway Station went viral. She has since then recorded the song ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ with Himesh Reshmaiya. Actor-singer Pradeep Pandey has also offered a song to Ranu. There are many more music composers and lyricists who have shown interest in utilising the melodious voice of Ranu Mondal
