Bhubaneswar, Feb 21: Rising Students beat hosts Mukteswar Cricket Club on the basis of a better run-rate in a rain-truncated semifinal match here Saturday to set a date with Biswabharati in the final of the NM Bhuyan and Sourav Mohanty Memorial Trophy cricket. The final comes off Sunday.
Chasing a victory target of 191, Rising Students were cruising at 117/2 in 18.2 overs, when rain played spoilsport. Man of the match Bikash Pati (48 n o, 60b, 7×4) and Biplab Samantray (27 n o, 30b 3×4, 1×6) were well set at the crease before rain stopped play.
Earlier Mukteswar scored 170 runs for seven wickets as Sidhant Ray (41, 53b 3×4, 6×1), Soubhagya Mohanty (37, 60b, 3×4) and Sunit Lenka (33, 36b, 5×4) chipped in with useful contributions. Santosh Sethy (3/23) bowled well for Rising Students.
