Cuttack: Sunrise Club eased past Orissa Police by a solitary goal in a FAO Ist Division football league match at the Barabati stadium here, Saturday. Jamno Xess scored the only goal of the match in the fifth minute.
In the other match of the day Radha Raman Club played out a drab goalless draw against East Coast Railway in the same ground.
Royal rout CRRI
A brilliant hat-trick by Rahul Mukhi helped Royal Club register an emphatic 6-1 victory against a hapless CRRI in a FAO IInd division league match at the Barabati stadium here, Saturday.
Mukhi put Royal Club ahead early in the ninth minute to start the scoring spree. Baisu Majhi added the second one in the 22nd minute before Javed Akhtar made it 3-0 in the 34th minute. Royal Club also continued their dominance in the second half too as Yujraj Pradhan scored in the 50th minute before Mukhi completed the rout with his 53rd and 64th minute strikes. Sk Akil pulled one back for CRRI in the 70th minute.
In the other match of the day LIC Sports Club defeated Anchalika Sports Association by a 2-0 margin. Balaram Singh (7th) and Anil Murmu (28th) scored for the winners.
Women’s League
Football Association of Orissa will organise the FAO Women’s League at the Barabati Stadium here, starting September 11.
A total of five teams will participate in the tournament. The champion team will get a direct ticket to play in the qualifying league of the upcoming Indian Women’s League.
