Bhubaneswar, Jan 18: A fine all-round show by Sushree Pradhan (36 runs and 10 wickets in the match) helped East Zone beat North Zone by an innings and 34 runs at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi, Monday. The three-day game ended on the second day itself with North Zone being bowled out for 29 and 166 in their two innings after East Zone had scored 229 in their first essay.
East who batted first after winning the toss were helped by a fine hundred by Tanusree Sarkar (107, 183b, 14×4). Even though the other batswoman did not contribute much it was enough for hosts East Zone.
In reply North could not tackle the spin of Sushree (4/14) and Sarojini Giri (4/13). After being asked to follow-on North fared slightly better to score 166. Sushree (6/53) shone with the ball again.
