Bhubaneswar, March 2: A woman sweeper, who had been working at the Capital Hospital for 12 years, has alleged that she was sexually harassed by the medical superintendent and the senior medical manager.
The woman lodged a complaint at the Capital police station Sunday in this connection. Inspector in-charge MR Garanaik said they are examining the allegation and have not yet registered an FIR.
The woman, who was accompanied by representatives of the National Confederation of Dalit Organisations (NCDO), alleged that medical superintendent Binod Mishra and senior hospital manager Bharat Pati called her into their chamber and touched her inappropriately and also took indecent pictures.
She also alleged that they made derogatory comments as she belongs to the scheduled caste. The woman alleged that the two had told her that she had “no respect or dignity” and that they could touch her “anywhere”.
“If the accused are not arrested, we will stage a protest at the Capital police station,” said NCDO president Ashok Mallick.
