Berhampur: A high school teacher committed suicide under alleged workload in her school Sunday. She was identified as D Rajeshwari.
Sources said Rajeshwari was posted as a teacher in Kukudakhandi High School. She resided at her elder brother’s house in Badasahi in Kukudakhandi and taught in the school. However, she was under mental pressure over a dispute with some staff in the school. She was not happy at the workload forced upon her in the school.
Earlier, she had approached the school administration explaining her inability to cope with the work pressure. The school administration sought to know Rajeshwari’s problems and later, handed over a part of her pressure to another teacher.
However, she had issues with some staff of the school, sources said. She took the extreme step while her family members were asleep. Family members spotted her body and alerted police.
Police registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body for post-mortem. An investigation began into the matter. No one was arrested yet. A suicide note was seized from the post which said no one was responsible for her death. She stated in the letter that she had failed to carry out her duties and hence taken the extreme step. PNN
