Sambalpur: The tehsildar of Rengali in Sambalpur district was arrested late Friday night on charges of allegedly misbehaving with a female colleague.
The accused tehsildar has been identified as Prafulla Behera, posted as a tehsildar of Rengali block in Sambalpur district.
Prafulla was arrested by the cops late Friday night following a complaint from a female additional tehsildar. Reportedly, the case was immediately forwarded to court and Prafulla was later sent to Sambalpur jail.
According to the female additional tehsildar, she stayed alone at a rented house in Dhanupali area and faced the traumatizing incident when Prafulla barged into her house with ill-intension. Upon being opposed, Prafulla verbally abused her.
The woman filed a complaint at the Dhanupalli police station against Prafulla. Acting on the FIR, police officials initiated an investigation into the matter and arrested the accused tehsildar at around 10:00 pm Friday night.
