BHUBANESWAR: Roots & Revelations in collaboration with the Embassy of Republic of Indonesia, Indonesia Tourism & Mayfair Hotels & Resorts presented the concluding event of ‘The Pride and Glory of Bali yatra’ at a city hotel Saturday.
The Pride and Glory of Bali Yatra, a 6-day event showcasing the cultural influence of Odisha in Indonesia, was held in Bhubaneswar from October 29 to November 3, 2018. A pictorial exhibition, unveiling of a coffee-table book and screening of a documentary film, all of which were put together by writer, photographer and film maker Sudip Sen after much research on the subject and many visits to Indonesia to interact with people there. Balinese Dancers and Indonesian Master Chefs flown in from Indonesia added to the flavor of the fest.
The Pride & Glory of Bali- yatra, an initiative of Resource Indica, is a multi media project that throws new light on the glorious maritime history of Odisha, ancient trading links in Bali and the impact of Odia tradition and culture on the land of Indonesia. The fest also included the launch of ‘The Pride and Glory of Bali- yatra’ heritage tours.
The Pride and Glory of Bali yatra is the first in the series ‘Rediscovering India International of Yore’. The series is inspired by the glorious maritime history of India and Indonesia. It is fuelled by the influence of Indian culture in south-east Asia.
The concluding event of The Pride and Glory of Bali Yatra was attended by senior bureaucrats, captains of hospitality and, travel fraternity and various media agencies of the state.
