post news network, Bhubaneswar, April 15: Every year on the first Sunday of April, all the Royal Enfield owners make sure that they ride together with the feeling of pride and brotherhood. This year they broke the tradition and rode on the second Sunday of April. On April 12, the second Sunday of this month, the Royal Enfield celebrated its 60 years of presence in India. To commemorate the day the Real Pride Riders’ Club (RPRC) in association with Royal Motors organised One Ride, a journey spanning 60 km, in which around 32 proud owners of Royal Enfield bikes in the city, along with the members of the RPRC took part. The aim of the One Ride is to ensure that every Royal Enfield is ridden on that day to establish a connect with all the other riders across the world.
The riders started their journey from Royal Motors near Kalpana and travelled different parts of the city to reach Nandankanan and flagged down near Infosys.
One the most active riders club in the city, the Real Pride Riders’ Club has been conducting such event regularly in the city. Apart from organising bike rallies the members of the club actively organise awareness programmes on traffic rules and on other social issues from time to time.
Baibhav Agarwal, the founder of the Real Pride Riders’ Club, said, “Every year the proud owners of the Royal Enfield across the world celebrate the day and make it compulsory to ride their vehicle. Though it is celebrated on the first Sunday of April, this year we did celebrate it on 12th April which is the 60th anniversary of Royal Enfield.” He went on to add that such events brought out the real passion of the riders and enhanced “the feeling of brotherhood and oneness”. “We are all like one community with Royal Enfield. It’s not just about owning a vehicle rather it is about the feeling of oneness.”
“Though we often organise such events, but in Orissa those do not get highlighted. Riding Enfield is a special experience, the more we ride the bike the more attached we feel to the brand we are riding,” he said.
Biswajit Rout another proud rider said, “I am glad and fortunate to be a member of this riders club. Spending quality time with good friends and discovering the raw power of the Enfield is something which gives me immense pleasure. I was looking forward to the opportunity to ride and thump, and my dream was fulfilled when I got associated with the club. Though I joined the club recently, but it is my third ride in the One Ride event. I hope that in future too, I would get some more memorable rides, which I will cherish forever.”
It was for the first that the event was organised on a large scale in the city. With the support of all the riders and enthusiasts, who came forward, the event became a big hit among bike lovers. The roads came alive with the distinct thump of Royal Enfield machines that highlighted the true spirit of friendship and unity. After a sumptuous breakfast following the completion of the 60 km journey – the journey began early Sunday morning – and lots of chit chat, the riders dispersed with the pledge to reunite once again to celebrate One Ride, next year.
