Mumbai: Saif Ali Khan’s wife and veteran actress Amrita Singh turns a year old Tuesday. The actresses’ real-life love story could have easily been made into reel because of the complications involved. Amrita Singh was 12 years older than Saif at the time of their marriage. However, she decided to marry Saif age difference notwithstanding as she madly in love with him.
However, their marriage did not last long. In 2004, both of them divorced due to Saif’s alleged extra-marital affairs. In an interview Saif spoke openly about his and Amrita’s relationship and also expressed his helplessness.
At that point of time Saif had said, “I have not met my children since divorce. Again and again I am reminded about my status. I have tolerated bad behaviour, taunts and abuses. I am feeling well after the divorce.” Saif had also alleged at that time that he was not being allowed meet his daughter Sara Ali Khan and son Ibrahim Khan.
Later, Saif married Kareena Kapoor in 2012. Even after his marriage to Kareena, the actor takes care of Sara and Ibrahim. It is also known that he pays a monthly alimony to Amrita. Both Sara and Ibrahim stay with Amrita, but they have a very friendly relationship with Kareena.
