Bhubaneswar: In a bid to strengthen public service delivery system, Chief Secretary A P Padhi Wednesday directed all secretaries to address grievances raised by public on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter.
Earlier, Padhi had asked the secretaries, collectors, SPs and other senior officers to open official Facebook and Twitter accounts. As people are also posting their complaints on the two platforms, Padhi asked the secretaries to connect with the citizens through social media and respond to the queries, grievances and feedbacks posted by them.
Chairing the monthly all-secretary meeting here at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary directed the officers to ensure at least 90 per cent Aadhaar seeding of all beneficiaries in different schemes.
The expenditure in social sector has gone up by more than 100 per cent over the corresponding period of the previous year. The total expenditure in social sector by April was `548 crore against that of `262 crore in the same month in last fiscal.
Padhi directed the secretaries to scale up utilization of budgetary allocation during May and June in the current financial year. Secretaries were also advised to keep a watch on speedy implementation of the District mineral Foundation (DMF) projects in various districts.
The meeting also reviewed the performance of DMF funds. It was seen that as of now a total number of 7,307 projects have been sanctioned under DMF in the districts like Angul, Jajpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Koraput, Mayurbhanj and Rayagada.
An amount of `2883.52 crore has been allocated against these projects. Out of this, 2,155 projects have been completed and the remaining are in different stages of implementation.
Padhi directed the secretaries of departments concerned to closely monitor the progress of the project under DMF.
